Vintage glass enamel and metal. This piece was acquired in China in the early 1980’s and maintains its original “Made in China” sticker and wooden stand. Approximately 5.25” tall, 1.25” to 3” wide. In very good condition with one tiny area (2/8”) of surface damage to enamel (see detail photo); no damage to metal.
Peonies (genus Paeonia) are native to China and naturally occur in most colors but blue - although a cultivated blue-ish version exists. The plant may have been used for flavoring, but is more commonly known as an element in ancient Chinese medicine.
