Captivated by the beauty of insects, the Victorians often used beetles as gems in jewelry. This South American weevil was lovingly set in a metal body frame with legs, celebrating its natural form.

Measures 1.5" long. Excellent condition. Wear with care. Store safely away from high/low temperatures or humidity; keep away from mites or other possible pests and this little guy will last another 150 years!

The Brazilian diamond weevil, Entimus imperialis, has an unusual wing coloration. Their black wings are covered with tiny dents filled with tiny crystals that reflect light in multple colors, like an opal or a bright diamond (hence the name). The magical structures are not yet fully understood by scientists!

Feather & Foxglove shares a portion of sales to support wildlife conservation and animal welfare.
