Brilliantly patterned copperhead snakes, Agkistron contortrix, are light brown with triangular shapes on their backs and a plain coppery head (hence the name) with orange, tan or brown eyes. They're aggressive and quick to bite by thankfully their venom is on the gentler side and rarely kills something as large as a human.
