Adorable vintage acorns perfect for gifting to your favorite chipmunk lover or botany enthusiast. Satisfy your own inner squirrel by gathering a stash of these tasty little nuts. Wear one long and one short together for a Fall-Winter themed ear stack.
Acorns come in copper or gold tone, on your choice of hooks: surgical steel with golden accent ball, gold plated, or elegant long drops.
Acorns, or oaknuts, are the fruit of trees in the genus Quercus. They come in as many shapes & styles as there are species of oak - about 500! An acorn may take six months or two years to develop, but it's worth the wait as they remain edible for years. Not only are they a staple for tiny creatures like squirrels and chipmunks but humans as well. Acorns are a traditional ingredient in North American Indigenous recipes including soups and breads. (The key is processing them to remove bitter tannins.)
For each purchase of these earrings, we will share $5 with Seeding Sovereignty’s Ancestral Acres Farm & Garden project.
