Two gilt tigers with crystal eyes roar at each other from either side of the ornately curved handle of this tiny but fierce minibag. The design blends 1960's dainty elegance with the vicious big cat style of ancient Greece and Rome. A historic piece for your very own purse museum...

Have you ever wandered around the Metropolitan Museum of Art, fantasizing about which pieces you'd like for your own collection? Well now you can own a piece that's also held by The Met. While not currently on view, this classic mini from the 1960's is catalogued in their Costume Institute.

Vintage gold plated metal and textured leather. Made by Morris Moskowitz, circa 1967. Very good to excellent condition with a clean interior and intact finish, and only minor age marks at edges or along top where the tigers rest their sweet heads. Please note: the handles does not sit up (posed in upright position for photos).

Tigers' stripes and fur range from orange, brown, tan, black and white, depending on the subspecies, where they live, and genetics. (White Bengal tigers are a genetic rarity, seen much more often on TV than they actually occur in nature.) Each tiger's individual stripes are unique to them, like a fingerprint to humans.

Feather & Foxglove shares a portion of profits to support environmental conservation and animal welfare.
