A stunning little bag with incredible serpentine details. Snake heads and delicious snakeskin swirls adorn the handles of this deep black satin beauty. Her glowing lime green eyes and crisp scales will draw you in. Visually enchanting, this bag is super functional as well, with room for a cell phone. A rare, bewitching beauty.
Bag body measures 8.5" x 5" with 2.5" depth at the widest point. She has a snap clasp closure, and interior zipper pocket and a double slip pocket - one lined in a glamorous champagne. The little details make vintage pieces so special. This dreamy snake head design by Bienen Davis is incredibly scarce on the market.
Shown with our Crystal Bangles and Pop of Snakeskin clips, two dreamy coordinated matches, available in separate listings.
Vintage fabric metal and crystals. 1960's or earlier; made by Bienin Davis (1931-present). Good vintage condition with some age wear to gilt and fabric. She was loved and saw parties! Note: eye gems are vintage but do not exactly match the original smooth green stones, which we could not locate anywhere. The sparkly lime green gaze suits her, don't you think?
Does any snake in nature have green eyes? Yes! Tanzania's Atheris matildae has gorgeous black and golden scales with dull green eyes, and a little bit of a spiky appearance to the unusual scale pattern on its very pretty head. A critically endangered species, they live only in one small area of forest that's less than 100 square kilometers.
