Worn as a belt or necklace, this luxurious serpentine chain boasts three gorgeous heads and a finely made geometric chain with exquisite slither. A rare and endangered beauty.
Vintage gold plated snake chain. Unmarked. Snake head bears resemblance to another belt attributed to Accessocraft NYC, a master of snake chains. They made various styles in the 1960s-80s. Approximate measurements: 28" to 33" long. Slight wear to plating on underside of hook; otherwise in excellent condition.
There are four types of snake locomotion: Serpentine : “lateral undulation” or sexy side-to-side movement for watery or hard surfaces. Sidewinding : bending sideways and vertically, for example to skirt hot desert sand. Rectilinear : tiny movements in the stomach send them straight forward, to navigate narrow passageways. And, finally, Concertina : coiling up then shooting themselves forward.
