A golden moth with lays across this silver bag, as if she were a study specimen. A rich dark velvet, black as night, shows off her etched details. A dreamy science-lover's piece with lush textures inside and out. Gorgeous to the touch, a rich, soft flocked shimmery grey fabric lines the interior.
Vintage metal and fabric. Made in Italy by Lisette, a New York company that was active from the late 1960's through the early 1990's. Measures just under 7 x 4" with enough space to fit a cell phone and a few cards. It's perfection in a party bag, with a tuckable square snake chain (20" drop). Excellent condition. Super pretty with our Empress Pavinonae set.
Key differences between moths and butterflies are active hours and wing/body colors. Butterflies flit their brightly colored wings during the day, while the moth is a night creature with subdued tones. They tend to exist in browns, greys, whites, and metallics. The Gold Moth (Basilodes pepita) is a North American species that shimmers in the North American night skies with sparkly golden wings.
