Botanical Shoe Earrings

Regular price $45.00 Sale

Gardens + shoes = happiness! Wearing these golden dangling pretties makes a subtle statement about the things you love. These tasteful shoes were produced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Vintage gold plated hook earrings, marked MMA. Wear consistent with age. Approximate measurements: 1.5" long from hook to toe. Small scratch to one earring (see left shoe in photo 1).

The Cloisters (the Met's medieval branch) opened on May 10, 1938, with plantings and garden designs inspired by the Middle Ages. So, which plants were popular with medieval gardeners? Strawberries, wild ginger, forget-me-nots, ferns, and daisies to name a few.
