Proud eagles, strong clawfeet, and windswept botanical swirls adorn this fabulous planter. The coppery tones look especially lovely with a mix of green and dark leaves like the variegated peperomia and purple oxalis seen here.
Vintage mixed metal with copper and brass. Unmarked. Approximate measurements (not including eagles): 11.25" long, 7.5" wide; 4.25" tall from feet to top edge. Some verdigris and wear inside; typical vintage wear to finish on exterior.
The stance and color of this eagle bring to mind the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos), a powerful raptor that's found in North America, Europe and parts of Asia. When not hunting they're actually rather sedentary, just chilling out on the cliffs where they nest.
