With a central scarab beetle, warm smiling suns, and a feverish dream of magical charms and fruity gems, this epic necklace will be your summer power piece. Scarab beetle amulets were worn by ancient Egyptians to encourage all manner of self-empowerment like manifestation and growth. But the winged scarab is just one of many tokens on this sensational necklace. You'll also be emboldened with the virtues of a snake, dinosaur, turtle, suns, moons, stars, Saturn, lightning bolts, and human-centric objects including a hot air balloon and one big fat sack of cash.

Vintage glass and pressed metal charms. Unmarked. This fantastical 1990's creation was most likely made by Patrice, although the style and materials are also very similar to Pididdly Links. Both used vintage European beads and brass stampings made from vintage/antique molds.

Measures 17" long including clasp, with a drop of 5" at the central charm. Excellent condition. Clasp has been replaced.

In old Egyptian symbology, the scarab (a dung beetle) represented Khepri, god of the morning sun. Out of all 30,000 beetle species in the Scarabaeidae family, it's no wonder the Egyptians chose a dung beetle as a high-powered icon. It is the world's strongest insect. One species, Onthophagus taurus, can move more than 1100X its own weight!
