Sphinx Cuff

Regular price $75.00 Sale

A powerful feminist of the 1970's probably wore this fabulous cuff on her wrist. Sphinx is part human, part lion, part raptor - she is a kind goddess but fiercely strong and therefore not to be trifled with. And in this case, she has bling.

Gold plated metal and crystals. Unmarked. Late 1970's to early 80's. Inner circumference 6.5" and an oval shape to the band make this a great for the tiny-wristed. Front plate is soldered to a clamper. Excellent condition with loads of sparkle and a strong hinge.

Egyptian Revival motifs exploded on the fashion scene in American history in the 1920's after the unearthing of King Tut's tomb by Howard Carter, and in the mid to late 1970's when the Treasures of Tutankhamun exhibition made its way across the United States.
