Celebrate spring with an abstract thistle mug. A beautiful container for fresh or dried flowers. And with painted detail on every side (even the interior!) this cup is an object of beauty and history all on its own.
Moustache cups were designed in the late 1800's by a gentleman who was tired of having the wax of his groomed 'stache end up in his drink. Today, the moustache lip works an ideal spot to pop a stem of flowers.
Marked Depon 4021. We do not have solid information on the history of this cup, but it may have come from Prussia (pre 1947). Recommended for decorative use. If you wish to use this as a drinking vessel, we advise using a home lead test available at most hardware stores, as some old ceramics and paints may contain traces of lead.
Thistle symbolizes devotion, bravery, and strength - things we have all relied on heavily for the last year.
