Glowing red eyes, a fierce open mouth, two types of chain and a weighted rattle at the tail. We love the sleek design of this gorgeous convertible rattlesnake. She offers you the best of both worlds: wearable as a belt or a necklace. Worn belt style, she fits up to a 34" waist. As a necklace, the flat underside of the chain lays nicely on your body, with her beautiful tail draping down to your waist.
Made with heavy, high quality silver tone chain. We suspect this piece may have been made by Kafin, a 1950-60's jewelry company that made several pieces using this same chain and often left their work unmarked. (See our Foxy Snake set.) The entire head is dotted with cavities that may have been intended for a pave crystal finish, but none were ever placed so it may have simply been intended as a textural feature. For now, it’s an unsolved mystery...
Midcentury metal and faux gems, with new crystals at the head (not the original color). Measures 36.5" from head to tail. Excellent condition. Unusual style.
A rattlesnake's tail is covered with a hollow form made of layers of keratin that knock together when the snake shakes its tail. The rattle serves the snake as a warning (FU, get away!) or a distracting noise to capture curious prey.
